inetLinker

This section is for architects/engineers who want to use the inetlinker Application Programming Interface to write programs in a programming language of their choice to smart link their documents.

What is the inetlinker Application Programming Interface (API)?

The API is a simple HTTP GET/POST request to a URL on the inetlinker server. You provide the input to be hyperlinked and we return the hyperlinked result to you. Since the API works over HTTP protocol, it works across all languages and platforms. You don't need to install any additional software (libraries/jars) to use the API.

If the method is a simple HTTP GET/POST request, why call it an "API"?

We're laying out a standard everyone can agree upon and because we couldn't find a better name for it.

What do I need to start programming using the inetlinker API?

You will need : -
  • The inetlinker Application Programming Interface document. The document explains how to use the API. It describes what is the URL to be accessed, the parameters to be passed and the return value. The document also provides sample source codes in various programming languages.
  • A license key. A valid key is required to access the API. In other words, one of the parameters to be passed to the HTTP request is a key value. The key is free and valid for one year. The key is used by us for tracking purposes.

For first time users, the API document and a key can be generated by clicking "Generate Key/API Document" below. For returning users, a lost key/API document can be retrieved by clicking "Retrieve Lost Key/API Document".
